Phil Joy (he/him) Slater Heelis
Solicitor
Phil joined our Family team in October 2023, having previously completed his training at a high-street practice operating within Greater Manchester and Cheshire. He advises across all areas of Family Law, including matters relating to divorce, financial separation, and child arrangements. He has a particular interest in jointly owned property disputes, which typically arise between unmarried couples. Phil also assists with the preparation of co-habitation agreements to hopefully prevent jointly-owned property disputes from arising in the future.
Phil prides himself on his approachable nature and enjoys helping clients feel at ease during what is usually a very difficult time. As a member of Resolution, he adopts a constructive and conciliatory approach to resolving issues that arise at times of family breakdown or crisis, and he believes that his pragmatic approach can help families move forward as quickly as possible.
Outside of work, Phil is an active member and part-time coach of Northern Wave, Manchester’s LGBT+ swimming club.
You can contact Phil on 0161 362 1145 or at Philip.joy@slaterheelis.co.uk
